This study in vitro first demonstrated that SIS is a suitable candidate for use in urinary diversions in place of autologous intestinal segments, considering the optimal results of decellularization and cell proliferation

The war against SARS-CoV2.

The war against the SARS-CoV2 infection: is it better to fight or mitigate it?

‪On April 6, we published on Clinical Immunology our theory about the crucial role of Nitric Oxide on the severity of COVID-19: we postulated that in hypertensive, diabetic and obese patients, COVID-19 could be more aggressive/fatal due to a high level of “basal” inflammation with low Nitric Oxide levels. Interestingly, the “protective” effects of several factors (such as estrogens) could play by increasing the formation of endogenous Nitric Oxide.‬
‪From a therapeutic point of view, to increase the basal Nitric Oxide levels, we suggested the use of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors, such as intravenous Sildenafil oral Tadalafil, in the treatment of COVID-19. (Clinical Immunology 2020 DOI: 10.1016/j.clim.2020.108414).‬
‪Following our suggestions, Ahluwalia and colleagues (Mount Sinai Hospital – New York) SUCCESSFULLY treated an adult congenital heart disease COVID-19 patient with i.v. Sildenafil (JACC: Case Reports 2020 DOI: 10.1016/j.jaccas.2020.05.013).‬
‪Let’s start again considering the war against SARS-CoV2 in an alternative way (Dal Moro et al., Medical Hyphoteses 2020): using phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (as prophylaxis?), we don’t fight the virus, but we could mitigate its effects.‬

«b-MAP»: A new diagram for reporting data on various areas of an endoscopically evaluated bladder

My idea

Starting from an analysis of several videos showing standard examples of diagnostic cystoscopies, I would like to propose a new diagram which graphically describes the bladder (and the prostatic urethra in male patients), called ‘b-MAP’ (bladder-MAP).

It not only allows rapid, precise identification of specific points of interest (essential for standardized reports of cystoscopic findings); it also faithfully reflects all the single steps of a standard cystoscopy.
